Minitube at the IXth International Conference on Boar Semen Preservation

From August 11th to 14th Minitube presented new and long established solutions for boar semen preservation and application at the International Conference on Boar Semen Preservation (ICBSP) in Hunter Valley, Australia.

The highlights at the Minitube booth were:
  • AI training model Suzy, artificial sow for training AI technicians in a safe and convenient environment
  • AndroVision®, highly precise CASA system for standardized, interactive semen analysis

The ICBSP takes place every four years and provides assistants with the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in porcine reproduction, andrology, spermatology and related biotechnologies among scientists and practitioners from all over the world.

The excellent conference program was well received by the participants. Key-note speaker Prof. Dagmar Waberski from the Veterinary University of Hannover started the 3 days of presentations and posters on results of ongoing basic and applied research projects with an overview about the past, present and future challenges of the application of preserved boar semen for artificial insemination. Within a series of short presentations, Dr. Christa Simmet from Minitube presented an innovative sample preparation unit for boar semen motility and concentration measurement with the AndroVision® CASA system.

Minitube thanks the organizers for an excellent program and all conference participants for many motivating and interesting discussions during the event. We are looking forward to the next meeting in Barcelona in 2023.
